Die Courteeners haben ihr lang erwartetes sechstes Album ‚More. Again. Forever‘ bei Ignition Records – für den 17. Januar 2020 angekündigt. Das Album folgt auf das 2016 veröffentlichte, gold-premierte Album ‚Mapping The Rendezvous‘, sowie auf die größte Headline-Show der Band im Manchester Heaton Park in diesem Sommer. Eine Show, dessen 50.000 Tickets in nur drei Stunden ausverkauft waren. Die bisher selbstbewussteste und beständigste Platte der Band ‚More. Again. Forever“ enthält zehn neuen Tracks, die garantiert den Platz der Courteeners als eine der größten und beliebtesten Bands Großbritaniens festigen.
Frontmann Liam Fray erzählte dem NME zum neuen Album: “it’s explosive and will blow you away live,” Fray ergänzt das es etwas wie klingt wie “a bit LCD Soundsystem and groove-based. It’s more dancey, but obviously with real players and a human element,” he explained. “You can hear the fucking breath on the hi-hat, rather than everything being programmed.”
Über den Entstehungsprozess berichtet er:
“It’s still about all of the ups and downs: excess, addiction, self-improvement,” sagt Fray. “All the big guns, do you know what I mean? It just seems like everyday it becomes more prevalent. Like, ‘We’re all just kidding ourselves here, shall we just slow down?’ We’re trying to take stock a bit, as hard as that is when the world is imploding. We’re trying to enjoy ourselves and see the good in people. It can be pretty grim when you’re glued to the news. Music has always been about escapism, so let’s just escape.”
